ABSTRACT
Incidence of Parvovirus infection in pregnant women is 1–5%, transplacental transmision of the infection to the fetus occurs in about 25% of all cases and about 15% of infected fetuses die. If there is about 100 thousand deliveries per year In the Czech Republic, Parvovirus B19 infection in pregnant women could cause about 50–200 fetal deaths every year.
