ABSTRACT
DISEASES OF GALLBLADER, BILE DUCTS AND PANCREASE IN PREGNANCY
Involvement of the gallbladder and biliary tract significantly more often affects women (1.9 - 3.0 : 1.0). From a clinical point
of view cholelithiasis is divided into three forms. The most common (60-70 %) are asymptomatic forms. Stones are discovered
incidentally during examination for other reasons. The symptomatic form is known as biliary colic. The most common cause
is cholecystolithiasis, rarely it may be choledocholithiasis or biliary dyskinesis. The most complicated form is accompanied by
a form of inflammation. Acute pancreatitis is a relatively rare complication of pregnancy and its occurrence is generally similar
to that in non-pregnant population (1:1535 to 1:3333). The most common cause of development of pancreatic parenchymal
inflammation is the presence of gallstones together with biochemical changes in pregnancy, such as elevated triglyceride levels.
Differential diagnosis of acute pancreatitis in pregnancy includes a wide range of diseases, especially hyperemesis gravidarum,
acute hepatitis, hepatic steatosis, and many others.
